LensLocker: Camera Gear Log
The insurer asks for serials and replacement values. The buyer asks for the shutter count. LensLocker has both written down before the day they ask.
In developmentThe registry every working photographer is supposed to have and almost nobody does: what you carry, its serials, its shutter counts, its service history and what it is worth, written down before the day somebody asks.
The Registry
Every body, lens, flash, support and filter with its serial number. When an insurer, a buyer or a police report asks for the serial, it is one tap away instead of a hunt through old boxes and receipts.
Shutter Counts Per Body
Log the count after big jobs and before service, with a note on which job it was. A dated log tells you when a body is approaching its rated life, and it is the honest answer when a buyer asks.
Service and Calibration History
Sensor cleans, repairs, AF calibration, firmware: each entry with the shop, the cost and the date, kept per item. Know when each body was last cleaned instead of guessing, and sell on a written record instead of on trust.
Kits for Shoots
Build the bag for each kind of job: the wedding kit, the portrait kit. Each kit lists its gear with serials, what the bag is worth, and the shoot date, so packing is a checklist instead of a memory test.
The Value Ledger
What you paid, what your sales brought back, and what it would cost to replace everything you still carry. The honest number for the kit, not the guess.
The Insurance Schedule Pdf
One page: every item you own with its serial, purchase date, purchase price and replacement value, plus the total. It is the schedule of insured items your policy asks for, ready to send to your broker.
